We're looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who will be a key member of the Community Data & Science team. This person will deliver on strategic analytical projects, define/produce end-to-end metrics that inform product decisions through data-driven insights and improve data/metric accessibility for our business.

The ideal candidate relishes working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts, and, above all else, is passionate about data and analytics. They are an expert with business intelligence tools and passionately partner with the business to identify strategic opportunities where data-backed insights drive value creation. An effective communicator, the candidate crisply translates analysis results into executive-facing business terms. They are a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail), and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, driven by a desire to innovate and move fast.

Key job responsibilities

1. Deliver on strategic analytical projects by coordinating with business, tech teams, and other stakeholders as needed.
2. Deep dive on downstream impact of various customer-facing programs, including extracting and analyzing large financial data sets.
3. Build models/heuristics/frameworks that can directly feed into the tech team roadmap for business enhancements.
4. Build agile feedback loop mechanisms to do quick deep dives into new initiatives, measure their efficacy, and give recommendations to move closer to desired end state.
5. Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to support analytical and business needs.
6. Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.
7. Write high-quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle), and learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
2. Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
3. Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
4. Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
5. Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
6. Experience in the data/BI space.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
2. Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
