Tasks

• Lead and execute strategic analytical and data engineering projects (esp. implementing a self-service BI infrastructure), coordinating closely with business and technology teams.
• Deep dive into the downstream impact of customer-facing applications by extracting, transforming, and analyzing large transactional datasets.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions, including ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting tools to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
• Create and optimize dashboards, reports, and visualizations using a BI tool (currently Grafana) ensuring they meet business requirements.
• Champion best practices in data management, reporting, and analysis, with a focus on data integrity, efficient test design, validation, and thorough documentation.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and Python scripts for ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and data processing tasks.
• Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to define data structures and requirements for new features across our apps and internal systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience in data modeling, data warehousing (e.g., ClickHouse), and building robust ETL pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, along with knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL or similar.
• Scripting experience in Python for data processing, automation, and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Tableau, or Power BI.
• A degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.
• Business proficiency in German.
• Fundamental understanding of key business metrics related to finance, operations/supply chain management, and marketing.
• Familiarity with lower-level programming languages such as C#.
