Description:

We are building Klarna’s fastest growing revenue channel by scaling Klarna’s media offerings. We are on a mission to accelerate commerce, help merchants grow and become merchants’ favorite growth partner.

As Business Development Manager, you will play a key part in strategically driving advertising revenue opportunities, fostering and growing media partnerships, and safeguarding our marketing revenue streams. You will be responsible for selling Klarna’s media offering (Content, Ads, Search) to global merchant partners HQ’d in your region.

You'll collaborate seamlessly with Klarna’s internal Partner Marketers, Partner Success and Media Planning teams to address our partners' needs and contribute to the overall success of our business development efforts.

What You Will Do

  1. Identify, prospect and target suitable merchants to sell Klarna’s evolving media offering.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for partners interested in Klarna's Media Offering.
  3. Manage media-related tasks including repeat bookings, upselling, and market expansion.
  4. Negotiate partner commission rates and investments to drive increased advertising revenue.
  5. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Klarna's media offering and future plans to proficiently showcase clients our offerings.
  6. Monitor and report on the performance of advertising and media campaigns, offering consultation and analysis on media opportunities.
  7. Coordinate media plans, funding, and timelines with the campaign team for tactical execution.
  8. Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders, offering insights and gap analysis to drive action.

Who You Are

  1. Agency / Affiliate Network / Media contacts.
  2. A tenacious "can-do" attitude with a passion for shaping the future of Klarna’s media offering.
  3. Strong commercial sales acumen, adept at pitching, negotiating, and collaborating across various stakeholders.
  4. Experience in both new business development and account management to maintain, grow and upsell advertising opportunities.
  5. Exceptional relationship-building skills for effective communication in various settings, both internally and externally.
  6. Proficiency in using tracking tools to draw actionable insights from reporting to optimize merchant performance and inform sales strategy.
  7. Highly organized and comfortable working in an evolving environment involving cross-team collaboration and senior stakeholder management.
  8. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and the curiosity to continuously learn.
  9. 5+ years of media/advertising sales, business development or digital marketing experience, preferably in a B2B setting. Solid understanding of the following channels:
  • Affiliate
  • Ads
  • Search
  • Familiarity with marketing agencies, networks, or publishers. Strong industry knowledge & contacts is preferable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the local language.

    Klarna's Compensation model and Equity Offering
    At Klarna, our compensation package includes a base salary and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). To ensure fairness and maintain global market competitiveness, each role in a specific location has a set base salary. During the recruitment process, we will assess your skills and experience to determine which role is the best fit for you.
    Our RSU program features a 4-year vesting schedule, allowing you to gradually become a shareholder in Klarna. Additionally, you may qualify for our Contribution-Based Reward (CBR) program, which recognizes and rewards significant contributions to our success.
