We are currently recruiting a Brand Manager to lead the German Brand Marketing team. Together you will focus on developing and implementing short- and long-term brand marketing strategies, with a clear online, offline strategy to increase brand awareness, strengthen the brand positioning, increase traffic and conversion.

As Brand Manager you will be responsible for:

  • You will be responsible for the overall marketing management and strategy, including developing and implementing both short and long-term creative marketing strategies for the German Market focused on product awareness, trial and retention.
  • Creating the seasonal marketing strategy and schedules working closely with Management in Germany, EU Marketing and EU E-Commerce to implement them.
  • You will be adept at utilizing all relevant traditional (TV, print, catalog, (D)OOH, in store, event) and non-traditional (SEO, SEM, Affiliates, Display, Social, CTV) marketing vehicles to increase brand awareness, traffic, online conversion, store sales and margin whether that be to the brick and mortar or online store. PR and Sustainability will also be part of your remit.
  • Analysing the effectiveness of the activities and quickly come up with relevant action plans when needed, developing reports for each activity.
  • Conduct weekly communication sessions with our in store teams to gather data and feedback to support and inform plans.
  • Drive effective, clear, and compelling communications resulting in increased traffic to stores and online.
  • You will manage relationships with external vendors and internal departments including Marketing, PR, EC, VM, Stores teams, Inventory, and (Visual) Merchandising teams.
  • Responsible for developing and nourishing good relationships with the local communities of our store locations and actively searching for local partnerships commercial and social sustainability.
  • Public Relations and Sustainability; overseeing the PR strategy alongside your internal and EU counterparts to maximize media coverage on the Uniqlo sustainability story nationally.
  • Working closely with the sustainability team to implement initiatives and campaigns to contribute to the local community, generating customer engagement for the brand.
  • Serving as a liaison for brand spokespeople and press to orchestrate interviews, appearances, and brand features.
  • Work on new store opening strategy and execution for store openings in new and existing cities. Bring Store operations, Visual Merchandising, E-Commerce and other internal functions together to ensure brand alignment on the way we go to new market, in terms of customer journey and experience.
  • Team management; you will manage and develop the talent of the German Marketing and PR Team.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in marketing/communication/business or higher.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in marketing within fashion/apparel/retail.
  • International work experience and/or multinational team experience.
  • Proven track record in working with 360 marketing mix including but not limited to: Store, EC, TV, print, catalogue, (D)OOH, events, app, SEO/SEM, Affiliates, Display and Social.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise own (and teams) workload and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically but also tactical with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent budgeting and negotiation skills.
  • Able to process information quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Consistently maintain standards of excellence for deliverables.
  • Able to quickly and efficiently adapt in dynamic and changing environments.
  • Good at problem solving, constantly seeks to resolve challenges.
  • Team player that is effective in collaborating with other functions to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Great communicator, inspiring leader and excellent relationship builder with all stakeholder levels.
  • Good people management practices and experience with ‘full circle’ team management.
  • Excellent fluency in English (B2 or better). Must be a native in German. Additional languages are a plus.

This role will report to the EU Marketing Director and German COO. It is a full time and permanent contract based in our office in Berlin. This role requires regular travel.
