Bioinformatics Scientist (f/m/x)

TV-L: 38,5 h/week (100%)
Limited for 2 years according to WissZeitVG
Your salary will be based on TV-L.
Your tasks
Pipeline development for the analysis of next generation sequencing (NGS) data sets (RNA/DNA/ctDNA) and integration of the results into routine operations. The focus will be whole genome sequencing in a somatic as well as Germline context.
Setup of interfaces to databases.
Occasional establishment of additional bioinformatics infrastructure in collaboration with our IT department.
Pipeline related support of molecular pathology routine diagnostics.
Your profile
Completed university education (Master/PhD) in bioinformatics, computer/data sciences, biology or similar subject.
Knowledge regarding the handling of standard programs for data analysis, e.g. bwa, samtools, GATK.
Advanced experience in the area of NGS data analyses, preferably with background in tumor biology or human genetics.
Experience with Linux, preferably with Linux servers and writing Linux shell scripts.
Knowledge and application of a programming/scripting language in the NGS environment (e.g., Python, Perl, Java).
Experience with parallelization of data processing on servers, possibly grids/clusters but also general hardware knowledge are advantageous.
Good teamwork and communication skills but also ability to work independently.
German language is preferable, but not mandatory.
