Your Profile

You will

• Design and operate container-based applications
• Architect and deploy technologies for AWS cloud environments
• Take full ownership of the full life cycle of the requested feature
• Assess the efficiency and performance of current applications
• Stay abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
• Push for improvements in our current applications and infrastructure
• Write self-documented and create understandable technical solutions
• Analyze the business requirements and create technical requirements based on them
• Collaborate closely with frontend teams in an agile environment
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain quality standards
• Own features end-to-end, providing support across development, testing, and configuration
• Troubleshoot and debug applications

You have

• 5 years of professional backend development experience
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to foster teamwork, align goals, and drive collective success
• Profound knowledge working in projects with PHP or Python (preferred both)
• In-depth understanding of message-based systems, RESTful API design, microservice architectures, and distributed systems
• Experience with SQL / NoSQL-based database systems and schema designs
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization
• Understanding of cloud fundamentals; familiarity with at least one cloud provider
• Ability to write effective tests for the developed functionality
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and understandable code with well-structured coding practices
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the team
• CI / CD pipeline design and implementation
• Bonus points for:
• Experience with Serverless functions
• Degree in computer science or a similar technical field
• Experience with Symfony Framework
• AWS Certifications
• Knowledge in Domain-Driven Design
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)

Co-Founders Felix Wagner and Jan Born are dedicated to establishing a true circular battery economy, which maximizes each stage of battery life. Circunomics has developed an AI-powered B2B marketplace where cells, modules, and packs can be sold and purchased. The company has been supported thus far by seed investors and business angels. Startup builder Next Mobility Labs, recycler TES, Orlen VC, and Dr. Peter Mertens (former Chief Technology Officer of Audi) are some of the key players. The Series A funding round was completed in December of 2024 with the addition of investors Schaeffler and GET Fund.

Official expansion into the US market transpired in January of 2025 with the hiring of Adam Willmouth, who will serve as the company’s US Managing Director. Circunomics looks forward to further collaboration with current US clients and to further growth within this key global market.
