Job Description(Associate) Director Regional Market Access (m/f/d)

The role
- Form and maintain a high-performance regional Market Access team with a clear patient and business focus.
- Develop and implement regional Market Access strategies and innovative solutions for the entire product portfolio, including cell therapies, to improve the health of patients.
Essential job duties and functions
- Identify and assess how the Regional Market Access Team can be most efficient in increasing the numbers of patients benefitting from our products, e.g. by analyzing current and potential future (regional) conditions.
- Strongly collaborate with all other Market Access functions as well as Commercial, Finance, Government Affairs, Legal, Marketing, Medical, Public Affairs, Sales, and Regulatory to find the best solutions and implement them seamlessly.
- Ensure outstanding execution of strategies, project management, and negotiations.
- Systematically enlarge and strengthen the collaboration with relevant regional and national players of the German healthcare system, especially health insurances, MD, KVen, KBV, INEK, DKG and other stakeholders to create the best possible access to our products.
- Horizon scan for innovative trends, e.g. in managed care and digital health approaches, that have the potential to optimize healthcare.
- Continuously and systematically develop each regional Market Access team member and support other market access colleagues.
- Represent Gilead at external meetings and the regional Market Access team internally.
- Train and coach Gilead internal stakeholders in respect to Market Access intelligence; with a focus on Gilead’s field force teams to empower the teams in understanding and handling prescription hurdles.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Master or equivalent degree preferably in health economics, pharmacy, medicine, public health, public health policy or business-related disciplines.
- Extensive years of experience in pharma companies or healthcare organizations with a focus on Health Care Management, Health Innovation, Key Account Management, and Health Care Contracting.
- Above market experience in either regional or global roles is seen as a plus.
- Leadership skills leading a team with direct reports.
- Dedicated team player and people developer.
- Exceptional strategic, analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a curious, fast-learning and adaptable mindset.
- Innovative, self-motivated, proactive and excellent in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Extensive knowledge of the German healthcare system, its trends and players.
- Familiarity with regional contracts and drug steering features.
- Key Account Management and Negotiation experience is a plus.
- Experience in therapeutic areas named above is desirable.
- Must be able to travel extensively as dictated by business need; home office based plus attendance phases in Gilead office near Munich.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills in German and English.
