Our client is seeking an experienced Agile Project Management Coach with a deep understanding of open-source projects to guide their teams toward best practices and help elevate the maturity of agile processes.
As an Agile Project Management Coach with experience in open-source software development, you will play a pivotal role in coaching teams to adopt and optimize agile practices. Your experience in both agile methodologies and open-source culture will enable you to provide tailored coaching, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement.
-Provide hands-on coaching on agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) to teams working on open-source software projects.
-Help teams transition to agile practices, ensuring proper understanding and implementation of agile frameworks.
- Mentor team leads, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other stakeholders in agile roles to enhance their effectiveness.
- Conduct regular retrospectives, sprint reviews, and planning sessions to continuously improve processes.
- Leverage your experience in the open-source software development environment to help teams navigate the unique challenges of collaborating across distributed, diverse teams.
-Advise on best practices for managing open-source contributions, handling pull requests, version control, and maintaining project health.
-Foster a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and collaboration within open-source communities.
-Assess current workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement agile transformations where necessary.
-Help teams define clear goals, deliverables, and measurable outcomes while ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
-Facilitate conflict resolution and ensure that communication flows smoothly across all levels of the project.
-Partner with leadership and stakeholders to align project delivery with organizational goals, ensuring agile processes are supporting strategic priorities.
-Ensure that there is effective communication between development teams and non-technical stakeholders.
-Promote agile principles within the broader organization to build understanding and support for agile adoption.
-Develop and deliver agile training sessions, workshops, and seminars tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
-Create learning materials and resources to support continuous learning and development for teams and individuals.
- Proven experience as an Agile Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Agile Coach with a strong focus on open-source software projects.
-Deep understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.), and a solid track record of successfully coaching teams through agile transformations.
-Familiarity with the open-source ecosystem, including version control systems (e.g., Git), issue tracking (e.g., Jira, GitHub Issues), and the dynamics of community-driven development.
-Experience working in remote or distributed teams and managing cross-functional collaborations across various time zones.
-Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
-Strong facilitation skills, able to guide teams through agile ceremonies and retrospectives.
-Expertise in mentoring and coaching individuals at different experience levels, from junior developers to senior leadership.
-Proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana, Monday.com, etc.).
-A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
-Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC), or equivalent preferred.
