Accountant

We are currently looking for an Accountant for one of our clients, a company specialized in the insurance sector. Under the supervision of an Accounting Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial and accounting follow-up of reinsurance companies.

Tasks & Responsibilities

1. Prepare and post financial entries
2. Prepare and execute payments and transfers (general expenses, taxes)
3. Post technical accounting entries (premiums, claims, equalization reserves) in collaboration with the Technical Accountant
4. Perform bank reconciliations and IFRS consolidations
5. Prepare profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and client reporting packs
6. Prepare tax returns and analyze tax statements
7. Prepare regulatory reporting for local authorities (e.g., BCL, CAA)
8. Prepare and participate in internal and client meetings (Committees, Board of Directors, etc.)
9. Maintain relationships with third parties (auditors, banks, clients, suppliers)

Profile

1. University degree in Accounting
2. 2–3 years of experience in fiduciary or commercial company accounting
3. Knowledge of Luxembourg legislation related to the supervision of insurance/reinsurance undertakings
4. Fluent in French
5. Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: English, Spanish, or German
6. Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and ability to work independently
7. Familiarity with Demasy accounting software is considered a plus
