The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following blended delivery (synchronous via Zoom & asynchronous) course during the Fall 2025 semester:
SW879 Disability, Empowerment and SW PracticeDrawing on a critical realist perspective, this course will examine a pluralist, engaged and nuanced approach to disability in relation to practice, policy, research, and education. Key topics discussed will include dichotomies such as disabled people versus non-disabled people, identity politics, bioethics in disability, and care and social relationships.
The semester class period is from September 2nd, 2025 to December 5th, 2025 with the final exam period running from Dec 9 – 22, 2025.
Sessional Lecturers that are teaching blended (synchronous & asynchronous) classes are expected to teach 7 synchronous classes throughout the semester on Zoom.

This course is offered on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. remote delivery via Zoom on the following dates: Sept 3, Sept 17, Oct 8, Oct 22, Nov 5, Nov 19 & Dec 3.
The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach on Zoom (synchronous) for each of the 7 lectures, be in the Zoom 10-15 minutes before each class starts, as well as offer regular office hours for their students each week.
