About The Role

On-site | Full-time

Within the Sample Preparation Department, you will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

Key Responsibilities

• Capable of pulverizing, sieving, crushing, homogenizing and splitting samples;
• Capable of receiving and storing bulk samples for future compositing;
• Able to screen and organize test products for assaying;
• Maintain personal production log;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• Familiar with all safety rules as per safety handbook for the lab and sample prep;
• Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
• Other duties as assigned.

About You

• Good communication and hand coordination skills are required;
• Good use of English language;
• Good organizational skills;
• Basic computer skills required;
• Flexible schedule;
• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment.

Required Qualifications

• Previous work experience in minerals sample preparation preferred;
• Forklift license/experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Require some lifting of up to 50 pounds;
• Environment can be dusty and warm;
• Be cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment;
• Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
• Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;
• Ability to stand for a full shift;
• Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.

• An estimated hourly pay ranging from $21.94 - $24.25 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
