About The Role
On-site | Full-time
Within the Sample Preparation Department, you will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.
Key Responsibilities
- Capable of pulverizing, sieving, crushing, homogenizing and splitting samples;
- Capable of receiving and storing bulk samples for future compositing;
- Able to screen and organize test products for assaying;
- Maintain personal production log;
- General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
- Familiar with all safety rules as per safety handbook for the lab and sample prep;
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
About You
- Good communication and hand coordination skills are required;
- Good use of English language;
- Good organizational skills;
- Basic computer skills required;
- Flexible schedule;
- Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous work experience in minerals sample preparation preferred;
- Forklift license/experience preferred.
Physical Demands
- Require some lifting of up to 50 pounds;
- Environment can be dusty and warm;
- Be cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment;
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
- Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;
- Ability to stand for a full shift;
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.

- An estimated hourly pay ranging from $21.94 - $24.25 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
