Leading employee owned civil design engineering firm is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing civil design engineering firm. Salary range is $125,000 – $160,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.

• The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and provide innovative design, improve overall group performance and client service.
• Provide technical expertise in all aspects of civil design of linear infrastructure, specifically watermain, sanitary sewer and storm sewer design and road rehabilitation and improvements.
• Provide project coordination on municipal infrastructure projects for public sector clients as well as assist in the design, construction, and project management of a wide variety of projects including smaller and larger scale municipal infrastructure developments.
• Have hands-on involvement in preparing studies, designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents.
• Actively participate in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, and contract administration for infrastructure projects, including involvement in business development and preparation of proposals.
• Significant interaction with Clients, Contractors, and Subconsultants.

• Complete assignments with minimal guidance from other Senior Engineers.
• Coordinate Technicians, Technologists and Designers to ensure that contract drawings are accurately prepared and checked.
• Lead multi-disciplined projects and coordinate with internal subject matter experts.
• Coordinate Subconsultants’ activity on projects.
• Prepare and review written technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, and design criteria reports.
• Prepare contract documents and construction drawings.
• Perform project coordination tasks including communications with Clients, managing schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements.
• Achieve budget compliance on assigned engineering projects to meet financial objectives.
• Lead and assist with writing proposals to procure new projects.
• Execute projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
• Participate in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, and inspection.
• Act as the primary contact for all project-related Client & Company Site Inspector communications.
• Provide mentorship and professional development to junior staff.

• Undergraduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in designing municipal infrastructure.
• PMI PMP &/or MMCD CA certifications would be an asset.
• NASSCO’s PACP, LACP, or MACP certification would be an asset.
• Experience in designing infrastructure projects in British Columbia.
• Trenchless design experience would be an asset.
• Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential employee or Client matters with integrity.
• Proven ability to liaise and manage Clients, Contractors, and other Consultants’ relationships.
• Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Committed team player and highly self-motivated.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, including OneNote and SharePoint.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout Canada.
