Job Summary:

This role combines essential construction worker duties with team leadership responsibilities to support project goals and a collaborative team environment. The Construction worker will primarily assist in various construction tasks and provide occasional leadership to ensure smooth operations.

Job Duties:

1. Load and unload construction materials and transport them to designated work areas.
2. Mix, pour, and spread materials like concrete and asphalt for floor preparation and finishing.
3. Support flooring installers by applying appropriate finishes to surfaces.
4. Assist with leveling surface areas to prepare for installation.
5. Help equipment operators move and set up equipment and provide general support as needed.
6. Assist in rock drilling and blasting activities on construction sites.
7. Clear rubble and debris, keeping the work area clean and free from obstructions.
8. Ensure a dust-free and organized work surface, ready for the next phase of construction.
9. Provide leadership by fostering teamwork, assigning tasks based on team members’ strengths, and promoting open communication.
10. Support project goals through efficient resource management and clear goal-setting with the team.
11. Guide problem-solving and decision-making within the team, encouraging collaboration and constructive feedback.
12. Mentor new team members, ensuring smooth onboarding and alignment with project objectives.
13. Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Working Conditions:

1. Work in wet, damp, strong odours, dust, cold environments, outdoors, noisy.
2. Heavy workloads, stand, bend, crouch, and kneel.
3. Job is physically demanding, ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
