Temporary full-time position (unionized) for maternity leave (approximately 1 year).

Workplace: Rockland

The Case Worker is responsible for the ongoing management of services and the Ontario Works program. This position involves completing applications for social assistance, conducting audits, maintaining records of the caseload, guiding and referring participants, and attending and supporting participants in their employment activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have a college (2 years) or university (3 years) degree specialized in Social Sciences
• Ability to communicate easily in French and English (orally and in writing)
• Good knowledge of principles and intervention practices applicable in the Social Work field, as well as available community resources for information and references
• Good knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations of the various programs of the Department relevant to the position
• Good knowledge of the various software and computer programs relevant to the position for completing necessary documents for data entry
• Knowledge of the requirements for maintaining eligibility for Ontario Works
• Able to perform mathematical calculations related to case reviews and eligibility assessment
• Demonstrated skills to conduct interviews
• Well-developed organizational skills to prioritize work and organize information
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle
