What you will be doing

• Manage various accounting functions including paying and posting taxes such as tobacco tax, sugar tax, HST, and bottle deposit tax.
• Prepare and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual client reports.
• Compile and submit monthly and annual vendor reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Verify, post, and record accounts receivable data, proactively resolving any billing issues with clients.
• Process incoming payments and handle other related accounting tasks as required.
• Perform other accounting-related support tasks.

What you will bring

• Prior experience in accounting or finance role.
• Familiarity with IBM I-series is an asset and willingness to learn is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is crucial.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges as the business evolves.
