ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire logistics operation with the Contractors and Client’s representative across MJL development simultaneous construction projects within the development, to be based on site in Dubai, 6x a week. This includes coordinating transportation, site access, material delivery, and contractor logistics across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in construction logistics, a solid civil engineering background, and experience in managing logistics for large, multi-project developments in the UAE. The role requires a deep understanding including but not limited to construction sequencing, site logistics challenges, and effective management of contractor logistics, including man / equipment/ vehicle movements/ waste management, and site coordination and any third party visits etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Logistics Planning & Coordination Across Multiple Projects:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive logistics strategy that covers all MJL development projects simultaneously, ensuring seamless coordination across sites.
- Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to ensure logistics align with project timelines, phases, and construction sequences.
- Optimize logistics for material delivery, equipment storage, and site access, minimizing delays and maximizing space efficiency across all sites.
2. Construction Logistics Management:
- Oversee the transportation, storage, and handling of materials and machinery for all MJL development projects, ensuring timely delivery and proper placement on-site.
- Coordinate the transportation of materials from suppliers and warehouses to multiple project sites, ensuring minimal disruption to construction schedules.
- Supervise the logistics teams on each site, ensuring smooth unloading, material placement, and movement of equipment as needed for construction phases.
3. Contractor & Subcontractor Logistics Management:
- Manage the logistics for contractors across all MJL projects, ensuring the timely and coordinated delivery of their required materials and equipment.
- Oversee contractor truck movements, ensuring safe and efficient vehicle access to each site, and managing scheduling to prevent traffic congestion.
- Ensure contractors comply with site logistics protocols, including access restrictions, material handling guidelines, and site safety procedures.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure their logistics needs are met without disrupting other ongoing construction activities on-site.
4. Traffic & Site Access Control:
- Develop a site access plan that efficiently manages traffic flow and vehicle movements across the multiple sites to avoid congestion and delays.
- Coordinate with local authorities, municipalities, and traffic management teams to ensure compliance with local transportation regulations, especially for oversized deliveries or specialized vehicles.
- Oversee the scheduling of truck movements, deliveries, and pick-ups to optimize site access and prevent bottlenecks or disruptions.
5. Scheduling, Resource & Inventory Management:
- Maintain a master logistics schedule that aligns with the project timeline, ensuring the availability of materials, equipment, and resources at the right time.
- Monitor and manage the supply chain, ensuring the right quantity and quality of materials are available across all sites, avoiding delays due to shortages or mismanagement.
- Track and maintain an up-to-date inventory of materials, equipment, and tools across all sites, ensuring efficient storage and distribution as needed.
- Implement resource optimization strategies, ensuring equipment is utilized effectively and that material deliveries align with site requirements.
6. Safety, Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure that all logistics activities are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, both on-site and during transport.
- Conduct regular safety audits to assess the risks associated with logistics operations, including the movement of trucks, equipment, and materials.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols for loading, unloading, and transporting materials, ensuring that all logistics personnel and contractors adhere to these protocols.
- Work closely with safety officers to identify potential hazards and implement strategies to mitigate risks related to logistics operations across the development.
7. Cost Control & Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring that costs related to transportation, material storage, equipment movement, and personnel are controlled and optimized.
- Track logistics-related expenses across all MJL projects, ensuring costs are within the allocated budget and identifying areas for cost reduction without compromising efficiency or quality.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with logistics vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure competitive rates and reliable services.
8. Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution:
- Address and resolve any logistics-related issues promptly, such as delays in material delivery, damaged goods, truck access conflicts, or resource shortages.
- Proactively anticipate potential logistical challenges and develop contingency plans to minimize disruption to the construction process.
- Ensure effective communication with stakeholders to manage logistics concerns and address issues quickly to avoid delays to construction schedules.
9. Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular reports to the senior management team, project directors, and other stakeholders regarding logistics performance, progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including truck movements, material deliveries, inventory management, and vendor communications.
- Communicate effectively with all project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure logistics activities are aligned with project goals.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
- 10+ years of proven experience in logistics management for large-scale, multi-site construction projects, with a focus on site supervision and contractor logistics management.
- Demonstrated success in managing logistics for at least one similar multi-project construction development in the UAE or GCC region.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Logistics, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, APICS) is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of construction sequencing, logistics management on construction sites, and the unique challenges of coordinating logistics across multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction processes, enabling the candidate to anticipate and address construction-related logistics challenges.
- Proficiency in logistics management software, project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), and MS Office (Excel, Word). Knowledge of inventory management and truck scheduling systems is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of UAE's construction, transportation, and safety regulations, including the management of oversized deliveries and compliance with local authorities.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

SALARY
UPTO AED 23K PER MONTH.
