YC: Mechanical EngineerDepartment: Human Resources (BP64030)Job OverviewUD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. This position will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and evaluating mechanical devices, such as industrial machinery and transportation systems, ensuring they are functionally safe and efficient according to UD Trucks requirements.
Responsibilities And Duties- Designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving mechanical products and systems.
- Understanding, interpreting, and implementing designs from technical drawings.
- Working with renewable energy sources by providing mechanical support.
- Investigating mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
- Inspecting the installation and adjustment of mechanical systems in the plant.
- Drawing up project plans, making models, prototypes, and mechanical diagrams to improve processes.
- Implementing Total Preventive Maintenance for mechanical tools/equipment.
- Tracking & monitoring job cards and setting planning with the Maintenance supervisor.
- Ensuring that mechanical tools/equipment/machinery conform to occupational health and Safety Act (OHS Act) specifications as well as environmental regulations.
- Supporting in commissioning tools and machinery.
- Supporting decision-making processes on the best concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Developing and improving processes and documenting procedures.
- Compiling documents to align with ISO 9001 (Safety Work Instruction, Standard Operational Procedures, Process Checklist, Process Flows, Process Audits, and Layout, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis).
- Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical/mechanical developments.
- Performing risk assessments with the safety team.
- Writing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Collaborating with team members (Engineering/Maintenance/Logistics/Production/Quality/HR/Finance/Training).
- Implementing additional actions related to Engineering & Maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications And Experience- B.Eng/BSc/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Essential).
- Computer Literacy (Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, Solid Edge, Engineering software).
- Focus and concentration to understand complex mechanical systems/processes.
- The ability to analyze and interpret data to aid in problem-solving.
- A high level of numeracy and technical competency, with an understanding of the applications used within design and production.
- Self-motivation to keep up with current mechanical advances using new technologies.
- Good time-management and organizational skills to ensure design projects and production run to schedule.
- A commitment to keeping up to date with industry-specific tools for analysis and testing.
- Preventive maintenance on machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is a must.
