The role you'll contribute:

The Wound Care Technician provides clinical and operational support in the delivery of patient care in a physician practice setting or clinical office. Responsible for assisting physicians/clinicians with examination, procedures, preparation of patients, and performing vital sign procedures. Assists with front office operations including, but not limited to, billing, invoicing, scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, tracking of procedures, reporting, and insurance verification. Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse, or Center Director, will perform tasks supporting the delivery of patient care. Strong customer service skills are essential when interacting with internal and external customers.

Encourages and demonstrates teamwork by following up on diagnostic results, answering phones, and communicating with patients. Demonstrates care for one another by working in all areas, being open to change, sensitive to department needs, and effectively participating in conflict resolution/problem-solving. Collaborates with staff on marketing efforts. Communicates effectively with front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Performs front office responsibilities as assigned. Demonstrates good communication skills, respecting and being courteous when interacting with patients, co-workers, physicians, and colleagues within the department. Prepares for next day patients, ensuring all necessary reports/results are available on the day of the visit.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  1. High School diploma/GED
  2. Completion of an accredited course in Medical Assisting, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, or Nursing Assistant
  3. Strong team building skills
  4. BLS certification
