Workshop Manager job vacancy in Retreat, Cape Town.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Workshop Manager to join this Niche Service Centre in Retreat that is well- known for their specialisation in Land Rover Service & Maintenance.

The focus within this role will be to ensure high level customer relationship management, technical expertise & support and complete management of the workshop.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (NQF4) & relevant completed trade / mechanical qualification
  • Must have exceptional diagnostic skills (diagnostic technician – trade test advantageous)
  • Previous workshop management / supervisory / team lead experience within a niche, service orientated workshop environment
  • Must have excellent technical knowledge of the Land Rover Brand (Service, Maintenance, Diagnostics)
  • Fully Computer Literate (MS Office Suite Applications)
  • Must be in good physical health to perform hands on tasks
  • Proven track record within a technical service and maintenance workshop environment
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas:

  • Responsible for the management, efficiency and utilization of technicians
  • Identify developmental needs whilst ensuring on job training
  • Ensuring successful distribution of job cards through the workshop
  • Ensure that all related administration is completed to an accurate standard
  • Ensure accurate & timely processing of all “job card write-ups” and job completion status
  • Pass all completed jobs to service costing / administration for invoicing whilst ensuring all work hours expended have been documented
  • Operate the workshop loading system, allocating jobs to the technicians who are best suited
  • Upsell to customers when appropriate and enjoy achieving both personal & productivity targets
  • Manage maintenance of facilities, tools and equipment
  • Ensure that the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations are adhered to in the workshop
  • Ensure ongoing and updated knowledge of the Technical / Engineering practices and procedures as they relate to the operation and maintenance of service centre
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure optimal service delivery
  • Take full ownership of completed jobs done upon handover of vehicle to client
  • Responsible for complete Client Service & Client Relationship Management process
