Monthly Basic Salary (Market related, Negotiable)

Our client based in Kempton Park, Johannesburg is seeking an Operation Supervisor to join their team.

This will be a 3-month contract.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the warehouse operations at their Johannesburg Branch.

As the second-in-command (2IC) to the Branch Manager, this role ensures the smooth flow of daily operations, effective stock management, and adherence to safety and efficiency standards.

This position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Support (2IC to Branch Manager)
   • Assist the Branch Manager in managing daily warehouse operations.
   • Ensure seamless coordination between inventory, receiving, and dispatch teams.
   • Implement and enforce operational procedures to improve efficiency.
   • Identify and address operational challenges, escalating concerns when necessary.
2. Warehouse Supervision
   • Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
   • Monitor stock levels, cycle counts, and minimize discrepancies.
   • Ensure the warehouse meets safety, cleanliness, and operational compliance standards.
   • Work with logistics and drivers to ensure on-time deliveries and collections.
3. Team Leadership & Support
   • Provide daily guidance and support to warehouse staff.
   • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
   • Ensure employees follow company policies and performance expectations.
   • Assist in training and mentoring team members as needed.
4. Reporting & Compliance
   • Track and report on warehouse performance metrics.
   • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational standards.
   • Identify and escalate operational challenges and areas for improvement.

Requirements:

1. Experience in a supervisory or senior team leader role within a warehouse, logistics, or operations environment.
2. Strong knowledge of warehouse management, stock control, and logistics processes.
3. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
5. Proficiency in inventory management systems or ERP software is an advantage.
6. A hands-on, team-oriented approach with a proactive mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Relevant experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
2. Familiarity with ERP systems or inventory management tools is beneficial.
