About The Role
This role sits within the Student Recruitment and Outreach team within the Future Students Office. The team supports the University’s strategic objectives relating to student recruitment for UK markets as well as its commitment to Widening Access and responsibilities associated with meeting strategic ambitions outlined in our Access and Participation Plan.
The role of the UK Student Recruitment Officer (London and South East) is to work in conjunction with the Student Recruitment Officers to achieve recruitment targets, develop and deliver regional recruitment through identifying and nurturing new opportunities. Alongside the other Student Recruitment Officer (London and South East), you will be responsible for managing relationships with schools and colleges in a targeted region across the UK, delivering engaging workshops for students, parents, and teachers, as well as promoting the University at local and national exhibitions. This is a permanent role, primarily working across London and the South East, whilst also supporting wider projects and activities within the division.
About You
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience working within 13-19 education, further education, or higher education. You will have knowledge of the UK Higher Education system, with a strong understanding of current policies and practices in relation to university and student funding, the Widening Participation agenda, and the role of marketing in Higher Education.
You will be an experienced and talented public speaker with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to engage and interact with young people, parents/carers, teachers, advisers, as well as academic and support colleagues. In addition, you will have the required cultural awareness and sensitivity. With strong organization skills, you will be able to manage a complex and varied workload, work under pressure and to tight deadlines, as well as work on your own initiative.
