Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job; it's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.
We currently have the following opportunity: Street Sweeping Operative, 2 Posts - PKC£23, Blairgowrie Depot. You will perform litter collection duties throughout the area.
You may also be required to carry out additional tasks such as acting as a second operative in a van to empty litter bins, collect fly tipping, and lift waste from domestic properties. This working pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
You can only apply online for this post, with online facilities available at all public libraries in Perth & Kinross.
You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post and complete paperwork associated with the post (e.g., timesheets, work schedules, maintenance records, etc.). A working knowledge and experience of computers/smartphones would also be beneficial. A Category B driving licence is desirable.
To be successful in this role, you will be physically fit and prepared to walk carrying/moving heavy loads over rough ground in all weathers. You will have a strong constitution with regards to adverse odours and may be required to work overtime.
We have a vision of a confident and ambitious Perth and Kinross, to which everyone can contribute and all can share. Our values and behaviours influence our work and support us in the delivery of our key priorities.
In your application, and should you be invited to interview, you will be asked to describe situations that support the criteria required in the role and which also demonstrate our values and behaviours.
Here's what we can offer you: A generous annual leave package, eligibility to join our pension scheme, family-friendly and positive work/life balance policies such as Flexible Working, Maternity, Paternity & Adoption leave, time off for volunteering, and our Wellbeing Framework. Access to a range of benefits is also provided.
A healthy work-life balance is important to us, and we provide supportive management and, where possible, flexible working arrangements to help you achieve that balance. You will have access to training and support for continued professional development.
