UI/UX Designer (Urgent)

Location: Cape Town (onsite)

Main role: Develop creative and functional digital experience for products

Qualifications:

1. Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction or related field
2. Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
3. Willingness to learn
4. Knowledge of design systems and component libraries
5. Experience with user research methodologies
6. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

1. 3+ years’ experience in UI/UX design for digital products
2. Strong portfolio showing UI design and UX thinking across various platforms
3. Skilled in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar
4. Experience with prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Principle, ProtoPie)
5. Solid understanding of design principles, typography, layout, colour theory & visual hierarchy
6. Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
7. Excellent communication skills & ability to clearly articulate design decisions
8. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
9. Strong problem-solving abilities & attention to detail
10. Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as part of a team
11. Open to feedback and able to iterate on designs
12. Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
13. Passion for creating exceptional user experiences

1. Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, user feedback & app metrics
2. Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes & mock-ups that lead to intuitive user experiences
3. Design UI elements and components that can be used across multiple platforms
4. Develop & maintain design systems to ensure consistent implementation
5. Collaborate with product managers & engineers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction & visuals
6. Conduct user research & evaluate user feedback to enhance user experience
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies
