We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traveling Crane Technician to join our clients team. Our client is a recognized worldwide leader in heavy lifting and engineered transport. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical systems, with a proven track record in maintenance and repair of heavy lifting machinery, including cranes and rolling machines. This role requires willingness to travel extensively, including to various countries in Africa such as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, Tanzania, among others. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in reading diagnostics, interpreting technical drawings, and fault finding.
Red Seal certification or equivalent qualification in relevant trade (e.g., Millwright, Heavy Equipment Technician, etc.).
Experience in maintenance and repair of heavy lifting machinery, with a focus on cranes and rolling machines.
Proficiency in hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair techniques.
Ability to travel extensively, including to countries in Africa, and willingness to work in diverse environments and conditions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to fault finding.
Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Experience in using diagnostic tools and software for equipment analysis and performance monitoring.
Physical fitness and manual dexterity to handle heavy equipment components and perform maintenance tasks.
Valid passport, with the ability to travel internationally on short notice.

Responsibilities:
Conducting regular maintenance and repair work on traveling cranes, rolling machines, and other heavy lifting machinery.
Troubleshooting hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
Performing inspections, diagnosing faults, and implementing corrective actions as per manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
Traveling to client sites, including remote locations within Africa, to provide technical support, maintenance, and repair services.
Collaborating with engineering teams to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to understand equipment configurations and operational requirements.
Utilizing diagnostic tools and software to analyze equipment performance and identify potential issues.
Adhering to health and safety protocols and regulations at all times, both on-site and during travel.
Providing training and guidance to client personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety practices.
Maintaining accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules.
