Job description

We are currently looking for an Online and Onsite Training Specialist who manages the activities involved in the preparation, delivery, and assessment of training and development programs for Labournet Occupational Health and Safety Courses.

This role consults with external and internal clients to provide ongoing learner support to ultimately mitigate barriers to learning.

The Training Specialist is responsible for facilitating learning by means of interactive contact sessions as well as professionally recorded learning content for e-learning courses.

This role facilitates high-quality training interventions, advises on improvements to course material and contents, conducts assessment and moderation in line with various legal requirements, and ensures that records are kept in line with defined SOPs and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Inclusive of but not limited to:

  1. Facilitation: Plan & Prepare for Learning interventions in line with predetermined dates on the National Learning Schedule. Design, Develop, Update, and Maintain detailed lesson plans for every intervention. Plan and prepare for each intervention by studying the applicable learning content in detail in line with lesson plans. Conclude all pre-facilitation administration (Facilitator Signoff; Confirming list of delegates; confirming assessment enrollments; etc). Design and develop detailed schedules and planning for the recording of online video content for e-learning courses. Ensure that all interventions are configured properly, attended on time, and that contingencies have been arranged in terms of connectivity. Ensure that all learners scheduled to attend have the required access, resources, content, and contacts required for learning and assessment purposes and that they are sufficiently orientated in terms of the learning journey. Facilitate professional, valuable, and engaging learning interventions which cater to all learning styles. Provide pre-assessment induction to all learners enrolled for competency assessment.
  2. Assessment: Plan and prepare for assessment processes in collaboration with all learners. Conduct assessments in line with SAQA, QCTO, and company standards. Provide constructive feedback and learner support. Review assessment process and action recommendations made by a moderator. Adhere to all requirements as described by SABPP to maintain competency. Design and deliver reports on assessments carried out as and when required.
  3. Moderation: Plan and prepare for moderation processes in collaboration with all learners. Conduct moderation in line with SAQA, QCTO, and company standards. Provide constructive feedback and assessor support. Review moderation process and action recommendations made by an external verification agent. Adhere to all requirements as described by SABPP to maintain constituency.
  4. Record Keeping: Ensure that all training records are kept in line with ISO, ETQA & POPIA requirements. Routinely report on quality of courses and suggest improvements for design and delivery methodologies.

Package & Remuneration

Salary: R27,000 - R30,000 CTC per month. Benefits: Cell phone, internet, laptop, excellent career growth.

Qualifications

You'll need a customer-first mindset and the following skills to succeed in this role:

  1. Demonstrated history of facilitating training in a group setting.
  2. Maintained accreditation status as Constituent Assessor and Moderator (Advantageous).
  3. 3 years experience in Health and Safety / Compliance related roles.
  4. National Health and Safety Qualification / NQF level 6 Qualification relevant to subject area.
  5. National Certificate: ODETDP (Advantageous).
  6. SDF Qualification (Advantageous).
  7. Achieved the following unit standards: Facilitate learning using a variety of given methodologies (Unit Standard ID: ). Conduct outcomes-based assessment (Unit Standard ID: ). Plan and conduct assessment of learning outcomes (Unit Standard ID: ). Conduct moderation of outcomes-based assessments (Unit Standard ID: ).
