Trainee Buyer

We have an exciting job opportunity for a Trainee Buyer role on our Merchant Training Programme. You are all about fashion! You take inspiration from international style trends and apply it to your range to ensure you provide the South African consumer with the hottest fashion looks. Your negotiation skills, creative flair and strong administrative skills are critical to your success to grow as a Buyer. This role will be based at our head office in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Creative and conceptual input
2. Develop fashion ranges that are fashion forward to meet our customers' needs
3. Product design and construction
4. Combine trend information with commercial awareness
5. Constant product analysis
6. Optimising relationships with suppliers
7. Negotiation
8. Managing budgets

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Creative qualification
2. Preferably fashion degree/ diploma

Competencies:

1. A passion for the world of fashion
2. Strong negotiation skills
