An exciting opportunity has become available for a Territory Sales Supervisor - China Market to join the Mukuru team in Johannesburg.

To provide oversight on retail sales and drive sales to individuals, corporates, enterprise sales in all China sending countries.

The Sales Lead reports directly to the Sales Manager-China Market. This position is responsible for:

  1. Generating sales through agent army
  2. Marketing the enterprise and corporate products and all other Mukuru products, including marketing collateral in all sending countries
  3. Pushing brand awareness and managing brand across partnerships and verticals
  4. Internal liaison for SMH and Group Marketing
  5. Growing transactions for products that sit in all China sending countries
  6. Sales and market relevant operation & implementation to support sales and marketing
  7. Travel domestically and internationally to expand the China market and work closely with country managers

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Providing advice and guidance to agents
  • Analyzing and monitoring transaction statistics
  • Motivating and strategizing on how to incentivize the agent army
  • Activating agents for new corridors
  • Ensuring sufficient stock of marketing collateral is available
  • Engaging with potential customers and marketing the enterprise product
  • Custodianship of the Mukuru brand and maintenance of that standard
  • Engaging with ex-pat communities to understand their remittance needs
  • Establishing the viability of potential new corridors
  • Engaging in new business development and projects regarding new potential corridors
  • Conducting marketing research and writing reports in BIP markets
  • Conducting multiple domestic and international visits to sales agents
  • Conducting field work in all China sending countries
  • Conducting various activations on requests
  • Managing the stock and marketing collateral
  • Managing the sales budget effectively
  • Monitoring targets and budgets to ensure alignment
  • Curating weekly sales statistics
  • Gathering and presenting location specific information on sales
  • Generating weekly travel plan
  • Generating weekly report
  • Liaising with HR to resolve any staff issues
  • Solving escalated queries
  • Assisting with recruitment of new sales agents
  • Ensuring that all staff have sufficient training before commencing employment
  • Liaising with community associations
  • Liaising with chambers of commerce
  • Liaising with the relevant organizations

Key Requirements:

  • Sales and Marketing qualification (Essential)
  • High School/Matric
  • At least 5 years sales experience, of which 2 years should be at managerial level (Essential)
  • Fluency in English & Chinese (essential - speaking and reading)
  • Experience in managing a Salesforce
  • Experience in domestic and international travels
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles
  • Knowledge of how to generate marketing collateral
  • Knowledge of procurement methodology
  • Knowledge about market research and reporting
