Tender Administrator / Buyer

We are seeking an experienced Tender Administrator / Buyer to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will have a strong background in tender administration and tender buying, with a focus on construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tender Administration: Administer the tender process, including preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluating tenders, and recommending tender awards.
2. Tender Buying: Analyse and evaluate tender bids, including pricing, specifications, and contractual terms.
3. Supplier Management: Manage supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts, pricing, and delivery terms.
4. Procurement: Assist with procurement activities, including purchasing, expediting, and receiving goods and services.
5. Contract Administration: Assist with contract administration, including contract preparation, negotiation, and management.
6. Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on tender and procurement activities.
7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.
8. Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
9. Certifications: Certification in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing, such as CIPS or SAPS, would be an advantage.

Requirements

1. Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or related field.
2. Experience: 5 years of experience in tender administration and tender buying, with a focus on construction and infrastructure projects.
3. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of:
1. Tender administration and tender buying principles and practices.
2. Procurement and supply chain management principles and practices.
3. Contract administration and management.
4. South African construction and infrastructure industry.
