Temporary Warehouse Manager (Automotive Parts)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the Temporary Warehouse Supervisor position in the Group Parts Distribution Centre - Centurion. You will supervise all Group Parts Warehouse Operations activities by planning, controlling, analyzing, coordinating, and implementing outbound logistics processes.

Developing and optimizing outbound logistics and manpower resources, in order to meet the outbound KPI's ensuring Dealer service levels and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for adequate supply of all necessary material and equipment as well as to make sure that all equipment and machinery are regularly checked so as to minimize disruptions to production.
2. Monitor trends in sensitive, small bin, and rack area deficiencies, determine possible causes, develop, and introduce corrective action to reduce damages and incorrect supply.
3. Plan and monitor warehouse operations process of parts and accessories to ensure that the daily cut-off times and targets are met.
4. Develop staff by the setting of work-related objectives, appraising performance and behavior, and where necessary, initiating / providing specialist training so as to maximize the potential of individuals within the section to maintain high levels of productivity and motivation.
5. Arrange for and provide ongoing training for staff to ensure optimum utilization of manpower resources.
6. Consult and monitor security systems within the warehouse to guarantee security of materials.
7. Ensure that work areas are cleared and free of any debris and obstacles that would hinder carrying out work processes.
8. Create awareness amongst all subordinates of all relevant Health and Safety standards and ensure strict adherence by them.
9. Instill and adhere to proper housekeeping procedures.
10. Assist in the generation of Procedures and Work instructions through liaison with other interfacing departments and providing the necessary training.
11. Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental standards, and procedures by members of staff.
12. Assist in the creation and maintenance of a climate conducive to industrial stability and peace.
13. Participate in departmental budget meetings.
14. Actively participate in ensuring continuous improvement and strict adherence to company code of conduct by initiating performance management, counseling, and motivation of staff.
15. Plan, introduce and monitor warehouse operations layouts to ensure most efficient flow of materials in conjunction with the Centurion industrial Engineer.

Qualification Requirements

1. A recognised 3-year National diploma / Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum 5 years Warehouse supervisory experience and 1 year SAP operational experience.
3. Warehouse planning experience essential.
4. Lifting machinery operating experience.
5. Inventory management, materials handling, related planning principles and procedures.
6. Knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and standards.
7. Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
8. High standard of People Management and Leadership skills.
9. Excellent planning and organizing skills.
10. Good written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
11. Ability to operate effectively under continuous pressure.
12. Effective problem-solving abilities.
13. Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to defuse conflict situations effectively.
