Technician / Millwright

To effectively maintain the plant on all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as well as providing innovative solutions to challenges and doing upgrades to equipment in order to improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

Millwright section 13 or section 28

N3 Technical qualification in Electrical or Mechanical

Fitting and turning

Min 2 years post Trade Test

Code 10 (or higher) drivers license

• ORHVS qualification
• ORHVS approval from Eskom
• Fire training
• Safety training
• Working on heights
• Scaffolding erection
• Blasting training
• Weekend duty training
• First aid level 2

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Health and Safety on factory premises
• Ensuring OSH documentation is up to date
• Conducting weekly/monthly safety talks
• Ensuring staff complies with PPE regulations
• Monthly safety inspection
• Daily equipment inspection
• Equipment assessments
• Construction of Brilliant Blaster
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and standards are kept up to date
• Identifying improvement opportunities
• Ensure production process is efficient
• Ensuring recovery ratio is kept to standard
• Ensuring Gi ratio is kept to standard
• Quality control
• Assist with planning of projects
• Ensure project timelines are met
• Daily feedback on tasks
• Feedback on technical storage items
• Attend scheduled meetings and workshops
• Ensure breakdown job cards are completed
• Completing of preventative maintenance job cards
• Develop and monitor 5S system
• Ensure plant is kept tidy
• Ensure factory ground is kept tidy
• Ensure grass is kept tidy and short
• Ensure solar panels are cleaned on a weekly basis
