Job description

Purpose Statement

To support Eazi Access in developing the skills and knowledge of its staff through design, analysis, conducting and evaluation of all specific technical training.

Main Outputs and Responsibilities for This Position

AREA / TYPE

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct training needs analysis.
  2. Collaborate with management to understand company strategic objectives, operational requirements and procedures and imminent changes that require training interventions.
  3. Collaborate with management and technicians to understand performance gaps, job-related training needs and personal development needs of technicians.
  4. Collaborate with HR to obtain and understand list of new starters.
  5. Technical Support
  6. Collaborate with branches to understand support required.
  7. Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  8. Provide on-the-job training and coaching.
  9. Planning, Scheduling & Administration
  10. Collaborate with management and HR (L&D) to understand resource availability to meet identified training needs (e.g. budget).
  11. Collaborate with management and HR (L&D) to plan structured annual technical training interventions for inclusion into the company Workplace Skills Plan and Eazi University Training Calendar.
  12. Communicate training plan and calendar to stakeholders and obtain confirmation of attendees from branches to support travel & accommodation bookings.
  13. Collaborate with management to plan coaching interventions and communicate the schedule to stakeholders.
  14. Make arrangements for printing of learning material and certificates.
  15. Collaborate with management to ensure training implementation is aligned to business needs, regulatory requirements and quality management system.
  16. Collaborate with HR (L&D) to ensure training facilities and equipment are available & reserved for planned and ad-hoc interventions.
  17. Maintaining of training material
  18. Collaborate with Business development & product specialists to design learning material to meet training needs (course outlines, facilitator guides or slides, learner guides, and assessment tools).
  19. Ensure learning material is up to date and in line with product, operational and systems changes.
  20. Training Facilitation
  21. Conduct training in an effective and professional manner.
  22. Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills.
  23. Support trainees to access and experience available online learning platforms.
  24. Continuously encourage trainees to engage in self-driven and/or online learning processes.
  25. Ensure trainee participation, quality and consistency across the full scope of learning activities.
  26. Train and guide new employees during induction.
  27. Ensure training environment upholds Eazi Access values and strategy.
  28. Ensure training facilities and equipment are maintained in good functional state and meet safety requirements.
  29. Evaluation & Reporting
  30. Manage and record trainee attendance.
  31. Carry out course monitoring and evaluation by ensuring completion of post-training evaluation by trainees.
  32. Make follow-up contact with trainees at worksites to understand the impact of interventions.
  33. Provide feedback and reports to management on training interventions progress.
  34. Provide training records to HR (L&D) for company-wide Skills Development on a monthly basis.
  35. Personal Development
  36. Continuously engage in personal development initiatives to enhance own knowledge and skills to function effectively in learning & development space.
  37. Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on training matters as and when required.

Qualifications

Minimum: Grade 12

Recommended: A technical qualification i.e. Diesel Mechanic, Millwright

Experience

  1. 4 years’ experience in Facilitation of technical training
  2. 4 years’ experience in design of training material

Knowledge

  1. Technical training

  4. Skills Development Legislation EE, LRA and SAQA legislation and SETA acts
  5. Curriculum and learning programme design
  6. Training facilitation, evaluation, assessment and moderation
