Job Title: Talent Pool Legal Advisor

Role Purpose:
Provide specialist legal advice to ensure legal soundness of operations and effective execution of commercial transactions across the business.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications:
    Relevant Law degree (essential)
    Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (essential)
    FAIS Compliant (RE 1 and RE5 Certification)
  2. Experience:
    At least 5 years business-related experience.
    Financial services and commercial experience (essential).
    Should be able to communicate well in English.
    3-5 years' experience in financial services corporate.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning:
    Identify, analyse, and implement solutions to clients and financial advisers/planners regarding:
    - Estate planning (including Fiduciary Specialist services)
    - Business planning
    - Tax planning
    - Investment planning
    - Retirement planning
  2. Provide Support To Financial Advisors:
    Ensure that the financial adviser/planner's needs are established, and support is provided relevant to those needs.
    Ensure that you keep the client on top of mind for all individual engagements, discussions, follow-ups and adaptations/modifications and feedback.
    Contribute to the growth in and retention of risk business (Myriad) and Fiduciary services i.e. wills, trusts and estates.
  3. Train and develop financial advisers/planners and assist them with growing their business by providing quality legal and technical support, including fiduciary services.
  4. Knowledge sharing and contributing to the monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc publications (ASAP, Leverage and Momentarily).
  5. Compliance:
    Ensure the necessary FAIS Compliance documents are completed and signed and placed on record (Letter of Introduction and Record of Advice, if applicable).
