Systems Engineer Specialist

To provide specialist technical expertise and support in installing, testing, tuning, optimising, diagnosing problems, repairing, upgrading and maintaining both externally and internally supplied hardware and systems software (i.e. Operating systems, data management products, office automation products, embedded systems) and other utility enabling software and related equipment.

High Level and Low-Level Design of PRD & DR hardware refresh (Server and Storage Converged Solution).

Physical host deployments running VMware ESXi 7 and 8. Design and deploy VMware vSphere infrastructure. HPE Synergy deployment and management. Preferred: Business Continuity Solutions deployments. DR Implementations, Test and Failover using VMware and VEEAM Backup & Replication.

Document best practices & architectural references for developing and deploying VMware solutions (including associated management tools, e.g. monitoring, provisioning, security and compliance, and DR). Support critical customer escalations. Determine gaps in existing infrastructure and ways to mitigate these gaps. VMware Best Practice updates & upgrades. Firmware upgrades and HDD upgrades. Maintain technical documentation of the VMware, Hyper-V and Storage environments. VMware. AWS integrations. Veeam Backup and Replication deployment. DELL Hardware maintenance and management.

What we are looking for:

1. Completed IT / BSc degree or other related field.
2. 10 years of extensive experience in enterprise infrastructure projects.
3. An experienced VMware ESXi Host Engineer Specialist with at least 10 years experience.
4. Preferably with DELL and HP Hardware experience.

Working hours: 15H00 TO 23H00, Monday to Friday.

These hours are negotiable depending on Type of Work (i.e. could be changed to a later start as and when necessary). During Company Freeze Period: Working Hours will be 08h00 to 17h00 (SA TIME).
