Job Title: Systems Analyst

Job Location: Western Cape, Stellenbosch

Key Responsibilities and/or Output Areas Include, But Are Not Limited To:

1. Advanced Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
   • Lead the collection and documentation of business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
   • Conduct in-depth feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for proposed solutions.
2. Complex System Design and Development:
   • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specs.
   • Design and propose system solutions, including process models, specifications, and architecture, and collaborate with developers on systems solutions.
3. Implementation and Quality Assurance:
   • Liaise with developers, vendors, and IT teams to ensure system designs are accurately implemented.
   • Assist with system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), validation, and quality assurance.
   • Support the deployment and integration of new systems or enhancements.
4. Maintenance and Continuous Improvement:
   • Experience in providing expert-level support and maintenance for existing systems beneficial.
   • Proactively identify opportunities for system improvements and enhancements.
   • Implement updates and improvements to existing systems as needed.
5. Documentation and Training:
   • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including user manuals, technical guides, and process diagrams.
   • Conduct training sessions and provide advanced support to end-users and stakeholders on system functionalities and best practices.

Skills and Competencies:

1. 5-8 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or in a related role.
2. Technical Expertise:
   • Deep understanding of system analysis and design methodologies.
   • Extensive knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
   • Experience with programming languages (Java) and system integration.
   • Project experience in a cloud-based environment, specifically AWS.
   • Modeling tools (UML, ERD), SQL, system diagramming tools, API documentation platforms.
   • Experience with tools such as Confluence and Jira.
3. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
   • Strong analytical skills with the ability to tackle complex systems and processes.
   • Expertise in translating intricate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
4. Advanced Communication Skills:
   • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
   • Strong presentation skills for stakeholder engagement and decision-making processes.
5. Education Qualification:
   • Matric.
   • University Qualification, Certificate or Diploma, aligned to relevant experience - Relevant Bachelors’ Degree / Diploma / recognized qualification from an accredited tertiary institution.
   • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, PMP) are highly desirable.
