Systems Analyst

Job Responsibilities:

1. Some liaison with external or internal clients
2. Analysis of clients' existing systems and business models
3. Map and document interfaces between legacy and new systems
4. Apply software development lifecycle methodology
5. Translate the client requirements into project briefs for incorporation into the overall project plan
6. Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability
7. Conduct requirements analysis and prepare specific proposals for modified or replacement systems
8. Develop solutions and related products
9. Produce project feasibility and costing reports
10. Present proposals to clients
11. Work closely with colleagues, developers, testers, and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
12. Ensure that budgets are adhered to and deadlines are met
13. Supply input to testing plans and schedules for complete systems
14. Perform detailed and complex unit testing for integration components of a solution and manage the resolution of any issues found
15. Oversee implementation of a new system including data migration
16. Plan and work flexibly to deadlines
17. Support users on change control and system updates
18. Provide training and user manuals to users for new processes/systems
19. Design new or enhanced systems to accommodate business needs
20. Lead efforts in the analysis, design, development, and delivery of technical solutions
21. Delivery of solution specifications that meet requirements, will be sustainable, and adhere to the company's standards
22. Work closely with project teams on client-specific initiatives that require integration solutions
23. Create and maintain solution documentation
24. Administer and maintain the system functions for modifying, enhancing, or adapting existing systems and integrating new features or improvements
25. Test the proposed solutions and support existing solutions

Job Requirements:

1. B.Sc (Computer Science), B.Eng (Computer/Electronic/Electrical) or similar degree or NQF 7 equivalent
2. 8 - 10 years experience in the Information Systems industry
3. At least 5 years experience with I.S. solutions
4. At least 3-5 years exposure to the logistics industry (Clearing and forwarding, Warehousing, transport, and/or supply chain management)
5. Direct experience with the Microsoft technology stack
6. Requirements gathering, analysis, and consultation
7. Solutions design including evaluation, documentation, and specification of a solution
8. Documentation of the solution requirement specification
9. Working knowledge of Microsoft BizTalk Platform
10. Development of solutions using Microsoft technologies will be advantageous

Knowledge:

1. Technology: Microsoft Azure, including but not limited to Integration Services, Logic Apps, and BI covering design, specification, and implementation
2. Integration technologies: APIs, Web Services, XML, JSON, EDI
3. System security standards
4. Data analysis and design
5. Exposure to Business Analysis will be an added advantage

Logistics:

1. Knowledge of one or more of the following: International Logistics (Clearing and Forwarding)
2. Warehousing
3. Transport
4. Supply Chain
5. CargoWise One knowledge will be an added advantage
