We are seeking a System Integration Specialist (SCADA - DNP/IEC/Modus & Network troubleshooting) to join our client's team in Johannesburg.

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Salary: R680,000 per annum

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in system engineering, with the ability to assess, deploy, and enhance our client's systems for improved product quality. Active engagement with customers and projects is a must, as is creating and conducting system deployment plans, test activities, and product training.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and coordinate customer projects
2. Develop and execute deployment plans and specifications
3. Conduct system test activities and customer acceptance tests
4. Provide product training to customers
5. Monitor system testing results to improve deployment procedures
6. Assess software release test results prior to customer installations
7. Log software defects for the improvement of product quality
8. Maintain a positive and productive work environment
9. Provide end-user support

Qualifications:

1. BSc in Engineering or related field
2. 3-5 years of system engineering experience
3. Strong knowledge of Windows domain, networking, and database design, configuration, and administration
4. Experience with network troubleshooting tools including Wireshark and Fiddler
5. Basic knowledge of project management
6. Residency in Johannesburg, South Africa
7. Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred:

1. Experience in the Electric utilities industry, particularly ESKOM projects
2. Software development experience
3. Relevant certifications such as MCSE, MCP, or equivalent
4. Knowledge of SCADA communications like DNP3, IEC 61850, and Modbus
5. Experience with SCADA devices including protective relays, communications processors, and terminal services
6. Knowledge of common substation transmission and distribution communication architectures.
