System Administrator – Onsite (Bedfordview)
We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to join our team in Bedfordview. This onsite role involves managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting a hybrid workforce, and ensuring the security and reliability of systems across firewalls, servers, storage, virtualization, and hybrid cloud solutions.
Role Overview
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for network security, infrastructure management, cloud integration, and IT support. You will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining system uptime, and providing support for an onsite call center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Firewall & Network Security
- Configure and manage firewalls, set up security policies, and monitor network traffic.
- Maintain switches to ensure performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and support VLAN configurations.
- Server & Storage Management
- Maintain and troubleshoot servers and storage solutions, perform backups, updates, and capacity planning.
- Conduct hardware diagnostics and liaise with vendors for maintenance and repairs.
- Virtualisation & Cloud Integration
- Manage and optimise virtualised environments, including virtual machine deployments.
- Support hybrid Exchange and Office 365 integration for seamless email and collaboration.
- User Support & Incident Management
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 IT support and escalate critical issues when necessary.
- Troubleshoot and maintain call center infrastructure, minimising downtime.
- Document incidents, solutions, and processes to improve IT response efficiency.
- IT Security & Compliance
- Apply security updates, patches, and enforce best practices for data protection.
- Assist in IT audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
Qualifications & Experience Must-Have:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in systems administration.
- Experience managing firewalls, servers, storage, and virtualization.
- Familiarity with hybrid Exchange / Office 365 environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization, and data storage.
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a hybrid team environment.
Nice to Have:
- Diploma in IT or a related field.
- Certifications such as A+, N+, Fortinet NSE, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, or VMware Certified Professional.
- Experience supporting a call center environment.
- Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
