Support Service Assistant: Horticulture

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The main purpose of this job is to maintain University grounds, open spaces and gardens within the ambit of Horticulture services.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Garden maintenance
2. General weeding, planting, sweeping, pruning, cleaning, litter collection and other maintenance of open spaces in the University grounds
3. Horticulture Nursery weeding, planting, sweeping and general maintenance
4. Safe use and cleaning of Horticulture tools and equipment

Minimum Requirements

1. Grade 8 or higher national qualification
2. 6 - 12 months experience in gardening/lawn mowing
3. Physical fitness and ability to work outside
