The incumbent will lead Africa Crop Protection Supply Chain, be responsible for delivering the financial and service level objectives for the region and be accountable for AME supply chain within the EMEA Supply Chain Leadership Team. The incumbent will be responsible to plan and implement the best supply Chain for the region to enable Business Growth, while aligns with Global Supply Chain. The scope of work encompasses all activities within Logistics, Modify and Improve Supply Chain, Deployment planning and EHS through adherence to work process, people management and close connection with internal stakeholders.

Work location is Centurion, South Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deployment Planning Team Leader is a key responsibility to provide people leadership of the team, who deploys the commercial goods, including strategy, organizational design, inventory management and create engagement among commercial units with regards to supply chain operations. Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies at finished goods level including deployment, unhealthy inventory and improvement plans.
  • Provide people leadership for direct reports through mentoring, coaching, career development and performance management.
  • Scrutinize the commercial inventory, ensure its compliance with corporate working capital strategies.
  • Lead the Sales and Operation Planning forum, ensure short term demand and supply changes are captured, decided upon according to the supply strategy and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and proactively participate in monthly supply chain reviews.
  • Partner with the commercial organization through monthly integrated reviews and other forums to support customer satisfaction and supply strategies to improve resiliency and reliability of finished goods inventory.
  • Participate in the Integrated Business Planning signature process, ensuring alignment between supply chain strategies and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the internal and external manufacturing teams to ensure production workflows, seamless communication, and adherence to quality standards across all operations.

Logistics Leader is a key responsibility to lead team members that oversees both domestic and international logistics. Will work with various functions and stakeholders, including external Freight Forwarders, warehouses, and carriers, to execute our work processes and manage performance in this dynamic supply chain environment. Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Manage strategic relationships with critical logistics partners in Corteva Operations Center, transportation, warehousing, and international trade.
  • Manage continuous improvement on systems and work process.
  • Facilitate data-driven and innovative mindset through KPIs and effective team forums.
  • Utilize metrics to drive service and cost performance.
  • Resolve shipping performance challenges in collaboration with exporting regions and service providers.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, timely order fulfillment, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitored internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, enhancing operational integrity and reducing risk of discrepancies.
  • Supports with troubleshooting issues for ITO team.
  • Corrective Action Management for ITO related unplanned events.
  • Actively participate in Supply Chain projects for launches and changes, while encouraged to innovate further continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with procurement to help select service providers and address performance issues.

Supply chain leader, responsible for people management and for representing AME within the EMEA Supply Chain Leadership team.

  • Identify and lead initiatives to simplify, optimize and drive efficiency across team and other sub-functions of Supply Chain operations as needed.
  • Being part of EMEA Supply Chain Leadership Team and is expected to contribute meaningfully to the overall EMEA Supply Chain strategy design and implementation, ie, set annual priorities and goals and lead projects related to our core objectives.
  • Serve as a representative of the EMEA Supply Chain within the AME Commercial Leadership team, playing a key role in strategy design and execution.
  • Manage relationships with cross-functional leadership in commercial, customer service, procurement, quality, and manufacturing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University master’s degree in supply chain or business management or sciences & Technical field
  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in Agriculture or similar field
  • Supply Chain experience, Manufacturing, scheduling, and planning experiences.
  • Project Management experience (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • APICS CPIM certification
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong communication skills & teamwork. Ability to establish strong networks, relationships, and disciplined communication with key stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work and escalate when help is needed.
  • Innovative mindset to create within current organizational constraints, while continuously challenging the status quo for agility as an industry leader.
  • Experience in Africa Supply Chain is a must.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Crop Protection (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Order to Cash (preferred)
  • SAP experience (preferred)
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills are key to succeed.
