Supervisor

To oversee and coordinate protection operations of the site at which deployed, monitor all systems and equipment in the control room, and facilitate irregularities and defects to relevant people. Liaise with civil authorities in case of emergencies, and provide supervision of security officers deployed in the control building. Uphold the client’s values and principles at all times.

The goal is to help the company maintain excellent working conditions by keeping facilities safe and problem-free.

The vacant position will require the incumbent to work closely with our VIP Client and Management; thus, the ideal candidate should be neat, presentable, have excellent communication skills, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to work well with people.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible and reliable towards the client at all times.
• Be an example to Junior Security Officers working under his/her supervision.
• Be well informed of the Company Disciplinary Code.
• Have the ability to lead a team.
• Be responsible for posting Security Officers at various points on the site.
• Ensure Security Officers are neat, tidy, dressed, shaved, and sober before reporting for duty.
• Observe and conduct a building inspection during shifts.
• Report any irregularities to the Control Room and Contract Manager, ensuring such incidents are recorded in the Occurrence Book.
• Supervise manpower deployed on your site or area of control.
• Be alert and proactive at all times.
• Ensure the security workplace is kept neat and tidy at all times.
• Write effective reports and statements.
• Assist in investigations and provide necessary information.
• Be able to work on computers and other security systems (CCTV and access control).
• Be conversant with emergency procedures and evacuation drills.
• Report all security equipment faults and alarms promptly.
• Conduct monthly audits, stats, and weekly reports.
• Provide effective customer service.
• Ensure all lost and found equipment is handed over to the control room.

Minimum Requirements

• Psira Grade A – registered and up to date
• Grade 12
• Medical Level 1-3
• Firefighting course
• Driver’s License Code 8 (advantageous)
• Firearm Competency – Handgun
• Business purposes – Handgun
• Excellent Communication skills (Verbal & Written)
• Experience working with CCTV or in a Control Room environment
• Experience working with Alarm systems
• Good physical condition
• Neat and well-groomed
• No criminal record
• Own reliable transport (advantageous)
• Previous experience working in VIP Security / VIP client (advantageous)
• Experience working at a Residential Site (advantageous)
• Must reside in or around the Houtbay area OR have own reliable transport to work

Indicative salary - R14 000 - R18 000 negotiable.
