Job description

Responsible for monitoring client's performances, maintaining all account information and Key account growth through the extension of SDB service offering with the aim to add value to the client and increase SDB GP.

Support operations and finance to maintain the smooth operation of the business with the aim of ensuring that the SDB customers are provided with an excellent standard of service, and to create wealth for stakeholders and employees.

Manage quality and consistency of products and service delivery while maintaining our core values (Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Trust, Quality and Integrity) and culture.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  1. Maintain and develop very close relationships with assigned client portfolio across all SDB divisions.
  2. Maintain internal relationships.
  3. New business development and growth in existing client portfolio through on-selling strategy.
  4. Retain and grow clients via regular visits and engagement (Minimum 5 physical client visits per week) : Scheduled visits to Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum clients in line with regularity specified.
  5. Develop strategies in conjunction with assigned client portfolio to add value to their supply chain.
  6. Implement the account with all SDB divisions / departments.
  7. Coordinate internal and client meetings across SDB divisions.
  8. Recording of minutes of meetings (MOM).
  9. Recording of client physical visits in CRM System.
  10. Speediness of query resolution and feedback.
  11. Prepare presentations, proposals, and contracts for clients.
  12. Annual Rate increases & ad hoc rate negotiations with your customers.
  13. Analyse client shipment data to identify trends, variances in volume, areas of concern, areas of improvement in efficiencies for weekly / monthly client discussions.
  14. Perform the duties allocated to you by KAM HOD as well as any further requirements SDB may have of you.
  15. You will be required to perform the job to a certain standard of performance, details of which may be discussed with you from time to time.
  16. You will naturally be required to perform the job competently, efficiently, diligently, and skillfully.
  17. As the nature of the business changes and taking the economic climate into consideration, it may be necessary to change or reallocate duties and / or job descriptions and / or functions.
  18. You may also be required to perform duties not directly related to your position as and when dictated by the requirements of the business.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Matric
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in logistics Air and Sea imports and exports would be advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
  • Strong Negotiations Skills
  • Minimum 6 -7 years Key Account Manager / Strategic Account Manager experience
  • Operations experience in Logistics and Transport industry especially air and Sea freight imports / exports forwarding and clearing.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Knowledge Required
  • Operational Knowledge would be an advantage.
  • To create, compose, and edit written materials – rates / proposal.
  • International Freight Forwarding Ocean & Air Product knowledge.
  • Market / Industry knowledge
  • Financial Savvy

  • Must be excellent with MS Office packages (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
