Job description

United Business, a division of United Business Solutions, is in search of a Stores Manager to join our dynamic team at our Rivonia, Johannesburg office.

This role is crucial to maintaining the Inventory in our Head Office in Johannesburg and stores around the country and ensuring the smooth running of all inventory related operations within a burgeoning E-commerce focused business, particularly focused on B2B selling.

Utilising cutting-edge Cloud-based accounting software and modern operational management tools including barcoding, our Stores Manager will ensure a seamless inventory flow through the business, supporting our ongoing business operations. United Business Solutions is recognised as South Africa's leading multi-branded B2B office technology solutions provider, specializing in sales and service of Printing Solutions, Photocopiers, Cloud and On-Site VoIP, Broadband Data, and more.

Our innovative approach to E-commerce sales harnesses the power of modern technology to cater to our clients' needs effectively. We are in pursuit of a detail-oriented candidate who exhibits strong work ethic, discipline, and a solid background in stores & Inventory management.

Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring accurate reporting, which in turn will drive our business growth, customer acquisition levels, and overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and update records and transactions on a daily basis.
  2. Ensure accuracy in stock counts.
  3. Collaborate with the sales and operations team to ensure optimal stock levels and management therein.
  4. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  5. Process invoices, deliveries, and track inventory movements.
  6. Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  7. Adhere to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and other stores related legal obligations.
  9. Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal audits.
  10. Recommend optimizations and support strategic business decision-making through the lens of inventory management.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Minimum qualification of Grade 12; a Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred.
  2. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  3. Advanced levels of computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office; experience with accounting software and databases.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to interact effectively with team members across various departments.
  5. Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  6. Self-driven, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  7. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  8. Willingness to stay updated on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
