Position: Stock Controller Assistant
Company: General Heavy Marine (Pty) Ltd
Location: Durban

We are looking for a reliable Stock Controller Assistant experienced in automotive parts/heavy machinery to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing safe and effective duties in line with company procedures and will work hand in hand with procurement to place orders and improve stock procedures. The candidate will also be responsible for tracking stock levels and ensuring that supplies are sufficient to meet customer demand.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Keeping track of stock and inventory, and using data processing systems to record them.
  2. Accepting deliveries, verifying and shipping goods, and arranging them in the storage area.
  3. Organizing regular stock maintenance and inventory in the storage area.
  4. Ensuring safety and security in the storage area and using transport equipment correctly.
  5. Conducting regular cycle counts and yearly stock counts.
  6. Responsible for stores safety, security, cleanliness, and ensuring stores are well maintained with correct labels and locations.
  7. Distributing/dispatching parts to various sites and technicians.
  8. Keeping records/spreadsheets of all parts requests for technicians/branches when stock is unavailable and liaising with procurement to order.
  9. Communicating weekly reports on stock levels, expected deliveries, and any issues to the relevant departments.
  10. Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
  11. Managing control measures to ensure inaccuracies and discrepancies are addressed where appropriate.

Requirements

  1. High School certificate or equivalent in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Valid Driver’s License.
  3. Experience and knowledge of heavy equipment machinery parts.
  4. Knowledge of inventory systems for scheduling and dispatch duties.
  5. 2 years of stock controlling experience, preferably within a business service environment.
