We are looking for an experienced performance-orientated Stock Controller who is always looking to innovate with continuous improvement & challenge the norm in order to make key changes!

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensure accuracy and security of inventory: Ensure processes for receipting of raw material and consumable items are followed.
  2. Drive continual improvement of inventory management processes.
  3. Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.
  4. Lead the monthly physical inventory counts, investigate variances and formulate corrective action.
  5. Oversee procurement of raw materials and consumables: Approve all purchases of raw material and consumables used in the production process.
  6. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers.
  7. Regularly review supplier rates and research the market for best prices (benchmarking).
  8. Work with ERP system, Microsoft 365 Dynamics Business Central (BC) to track inventory levels, set reorder points, manage purchase orders and generate reports.
  9. Champion warehousing function.
  10. Work closely with production planning to ensure that picking slips for raw material and consumables are issued timely and stock is ready for use.
  11. Implement strict procedures and safeguards to ensure accurate and complete issuing of stock is achieved in a timely manner.
  12. Day-to-day drive to improve the stock function in the business: Lead the team by example to set and sustain high standards of integrity and performance.
  13. Maintain a disciplined environment.
  14. Assist the operations & financial managers in reporting.
  15. Facilitate good communication between your team & internal & external parties.
  16. Supply other departments with accurate and relevant information and analysis to be used in their decision making.

Experience, Education & Skills needed:

  • Degree in relevant field.
  • 3 Years+ experience in Stock Control & ensuring accuracy and security of all inventory classes & maintaining accurate record of inventory movement ideally gained within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of what internal controls look like in the inventory cycle.
  • Strong communication skills in English & Afrikaans & able to liaise with key stakeholders easily.
  • Excellent conflict management skills together with strong team collaboration skills across all disciplines & functions.
  • Experience working with an ERP System.
  • MS Excel proficiency at intermediate level.
