Staff Nurse / Enrolled Nurse

Facility in Parow in need of a Staff Nurse. If you have a passion for caring for the elderly and ensuring their health and well-being, this opportunity could be perfect for you. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience with the following:

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure high standards of nursing care to meet the needs of the residents.
2. Plan and follow a daily care schedule with patients, modify care plans as prescribed by medical professionals, and report on any new conditions or needs that may arise.
3. Follow a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication.
4. Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
5. Provide mobility assistance, for example, helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
6. Monitor and report changes in health, behaviour, and needs.
7. Administer prescribed medication.
8. Keep up to date records with regards to night shift patient care.
9. Take blood pressure and record weight gain or loss.
10. Prepare daily medications.

Qualifications:

1. Matric or equivalent.
2. Diploma in Nursing will be advantageous.
3. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
4. Nursing background and experience with the elderly.
5. Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience.

2. Observant and committed to making your patient feel safe and comfortable.
3. Excellent communication skills, verbally and written.
4. Ability to communicate well in Afrikaans & English.
5. Strong administration skills.
6. Good compassion and highly professional relationship builder with residents.
