Job Summary
We are seeking a Kubernetes Engineer with a strong focus on container security, software development, and solution architecture to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes-based security products and tools both on-premises and in AWS. This role requires strong programming skills in Python and/or Go, as well as expertise in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and automated solutions in a large-scale Kubernetes environment. You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of a DevSecOps strategy, ensuring that security is embedded into our cloud-native infrastructure and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Lead Security Platform Engineer, providing support and expertise.
- Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes-focused security products with a strong software engineering approach.
- Develop and maintain security-focused applications and automation in Python or Go to integrate with Kubernetes security tools.
- Architect and implement scalable, secure solutions for containerized environments in AWS and on-premises.
- Enhance intrusion detection, tracking, and monitoring capabilities for container security.
- Analyze audits, alerts, and logs to identify potential security threats.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of Kubernetes-based security tools.
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration of Kubernetes security tools into application architectures.
- Provide technical guidance on Kubernetes security, deployment, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud security advancements and drive adoption of innovative security solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong software development experience in Python and/or Go (or equivalent programming languages).
- Strong knowledge of container security practices, including image scanning, vulnerability management, and image hardening.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking and security best practices.
- Experience with AWS cloud environments, including security best practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Tekton, and ArgoCD.
- Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable architectures for Kubernetes-based workloads.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ideal Certifications & Experience
- Experience with container security tools like NeuVector, Prisma Cloud, Aqua Security, Sysdig.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Experience with:
- Kubernetes configuration tools like Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD.
- Kubernetes Operators/Controllers and/or Crossplane.
- Developing Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go.
- Security automation and compliance monitoring tools.
