Job Summary

We are seeking a Kubernetes Engineer with a strong focus on container security, software development, and solution architecture to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes-based security products and tools both on-premises and in AWS. This role requires strong programming skills in Python and/or Go, as well as expertise in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and automated solutions in a large-scale Kubernetes environment. You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of a DevSecOps strategy, ensuring that security is embedded into our cloud-native infrastructure and applications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the Lead Security Platform Engineer, providing support and expertise.
2. Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes-focused security products with a strong software engineering approach.
3. Develop and maintain security-focused applications and automation in Python or Go to integrate with Kubernetes security tools.
4. Architect and implement scalable, secure solutions for containerized environments in AWS and on-premises.
5. Enhance intrusion detection, tracking, and monitoring capabilities for container security.
6. Analyze audits, alerts, and logs to identify potential security threats.
7. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of Kubernetes-based security tools.
8. Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration of Kubernetes security tools into application architectures.
9. Provide technical guidance on Kubernetes security, deployment, and best practices.
10. Stay up to date with the latest cloud security advancements and drive adoption of innovative security solutions.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
2. 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
3. Strong software development experience in Python and/or Go (or equivalent programming languages).
4. Strong knowledge of container security practices, including image scanning, vulnerability management, and image hardening.
5. Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking and security best practices.
6. Experience with AWS cloud environments, including security best practices.
7. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
8. Proficiency in CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Tekton, and ArgoCD.
9. Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable architectures for Kubernetes-based workloads.
10. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ideal Certifications & Experience

1. Experience with container security tools like NeuVector, Prisma Cloud, Aqua Security, Sysdig.

Certifications (Preferred):

1. Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
2. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
3. Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Experience with:

1. Kubernetes configuration tools like Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD.
2. Kubernetes Operators/Controllers and/or Crossplane.
3. Developing Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go.
4. Security automation and compliance monitoring tools.
