We are currently on a search for a Specialist – Digital Web to join the largest manufacturer and distributor of major appliances company in Southern Africa, to be based in Durban. The purpose of the role will be to manage and enhance the online presence of three appliance brands. The role requires a balance of technical expertise and creative problem-solving to ensure the websites are functional, user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for performance. The Website Specialist will drive web traffic, improve user engagement, and elevate digital experience, ultimately supporting brand visibility and business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure alignment of website structure and content with brand CI guidelines
Design and develop new pages, features, and functionalities within Adobe AEM
Ensure websites are fully responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible
Collaborate with HQ teams to align local and global website updates.
Manage website updates (product changes, campaign pages, creative assets, etc.)
Ensure accurate and timely product content updates across all brands, including text, specs, and media (images/videos)
Implement SEO best practices to optimize content and improve organic rankings
Ensure all products have high-quality imagery and video representation
Oversee content syndication with retail partners to maintain consistency
Analyze user behaviour and website performance using analytics tools
Conduct usability testing and performance audits to improve engagement
Optimize website speed, navigation, and conversion paths for a seamless experience
Integrate analytics, CRM, and marketing automation tools to enhance website functionality
Leverage reporting tools to provide data-driven insights on website performance
Collaborate with marketing teams to integrate campaigns and digital initiatives
Utilize Google Analytics and other tools to track website performance
Generate regular reports and provide insights to stakeholders on website effectiveness
Identify trends and areas for improvement through data analysis
Ensure compliance with data protection laws (POPIA, GDPR) and company policies
Work with the global team to align website compliance and security measures
Manage product warranty registration portal and ensure proper data handling
Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and digital best practices
Experiment with new website enhancements to improve UX and performance
Explore emerging digital channels to position Defy as an aspirational brand
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in web development, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven experience in website management, web development, or digital content management
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development frameworks
Expertise in CMS platforms, particularly Adobe Experience Manager (AEM); experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of SEO principles, website analytics tools (Google Analytics), UX/UI best practices, and conversion optimization
Familiarity with third-party integrations (e.g., CRM, email marketing tools)
