Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst with experience or interest in credit reporting to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to support decision-making across Credit. In addition, they will be tasked with preparing credit reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of credit risk management processes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis:

  1. Collect, clean, and analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business decisions.
  2. Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for various departments and stakeholders.
  3. Utilize statistical and analytical tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R, Power BI, etc.) to interpret large datasets.
  4. Collaborate with other departments to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the performance of business processes and recommend improvements based on data analysis.

Credit Reporting:

  1. Prepare and generate credit reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and industry regulations.
  2. Analyze customer credit data, financial statements, and payment histories to assess risk.
  3. Ensure timely submission of credit reports and support the resolution or investigation of any discrepancies or reporting errors.
  4. Reconcile credit reports to source documents or data on a monthly basis.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of credit reporting standards, regulations, and best practices.

Data Management:

  1. Maintain and manage databases and ensure data integrity across various systems.
  2. Develop and implement data collection systems, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
  3. Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide recommendations for system improvements.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  1. Collaborate with credit risk, finance, operations, and compliance teams to align reporting and analysis efforts with business objectives.
  2. Assist in the development of insight to mitigate credit risk through data-driven insights.

Reporting and Presentation:

  1. Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to present to management and other key stakeholders.
  2. Summarize findings and present complex data in a clear, concise manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  2. Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analysis, credit reporting, or a related role.

Technical Skills:

  1. Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  2. Experience with statistical software (Python, R, SAS, etc.).
  3. Familiarity with credit risk assessment and reporting practices.
  4. Understanding of financial statements, credit score models, and risk metrics.

Soft Skills:

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
  3. Effective communication and presentation skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
