We are offering an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive pharmacist to join our mental health pharmacy team based at New Craigs Hospital.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is keen to gain knowledge, clinical skills and experience in the mental health specialty. You will be supported in your development by our experienced team of clinical pharmacists and will have access to formal learning opportunities.
You will work as a key member of both the pharmacy team and the wider multidisciplinary mental health teams to provide patient-centred care whilst ensuring safe, evidence-based and cost-effective use of psychotropic medicines for both in-patients and out-patients. You will have opportunities to be involved in the education and training of other professionals and trainees as part of your role and to contribute to the provision of a specialist clinical pharmacy advice service to healthcare professionals across North Highland.
You will be an effective team player and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
An independent prescribing qualification would be an advantage but you would be supported to undertake the training if you do not already have this qualification.

Additional Information For Candidates:
NHS Highland is geographically the largest of the 14 regional boards of NHS Scotland, covering an area of 12,500 square miles, across Highland and Argyll & Bute.
As a board we strive to ensure the environment is conducive to nurturing a positive culture, supported and delivered through.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
