The Youth Employment Service (Y.E.S) programme in South Africa aims to address youth unemployment by providing young people between the ages of 18 - 35 years with opportunities to gain work experience, skills development, and employment.

We would like to invite you to apply for the Spare Parts Administrator Y.E.S Programme position that will be based in our Cape Town plant.

A position within the Y.E.S Programme at Saint-Gobain offers you an opportunity to gain skills and work experience for a period of 12 months. There is a monthly stipend of R6,000 per month and a travelling allowance of R500 which is offered to the successful candidate.

We require someone to carry out the tasks listed below:

• Spares Management: Provide crucial administrative support in recordkeeping of spares, spares issuing and stock keeping.
• Digitalisation: Transferring all spares management records into SAP for digital spares management.
• Documentation and Compliance: Prepare correspondence, maintain records, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Database Management: Maintain accurate spares records and databases.
• Project Support: Assist in developing and implementing Spares management and other Step elements in support of WCM Reliability initiatives.

Is this job for you?

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a qualification in Operations Management. The candidate should possess organisational skills with the ability to prioritize important projects and interpersonal skills with good communicative skills. Must be computer literate and be able to handle confidential information discreetly. Experience in Maintenance practices or manufacturing is an advantage.
