Solar Analysis Specialist – Reference CVZSAS

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.

PhD would be an advantage.

Minimum of 2-4 years formal experience with solar analysis software and data analysis.

Registration with an engineering professional body.

Valid South African drivers’ license.

Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time; limited international travel.

Criteria

1. Feasibility study and basic design of PV system configurations.
2. Solar resource and energy assessment of solar photovoltaic systems.
3. Pre-feasibility study of solar photovoltaic installation.
4. Support in the selection of equipment during the procurement process.
5. Support in the preparation of technical documents for the Investment Committee.
6. Optimization of PV system configuration, design of the PV layout, selection, and application of the main equipment of solar PV plant.
7. Collaboration and coordination with info data providers and technical advisors.
8. Measurement campaigns analysis, support in providing information for the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the weather stations and sensors.
9. Support in the definition of contractual guarantees on the energy production of PV plant.
10. Prepare technical specifications and internal procedures.
11. Technical support and follow-up activities with Business Development, Operation & Maintenance, and other units involved in the development, execution, and operation phase of the project.
12. Technical support for the Merge & Acquisition activities.
13. Assist in the scouting phase of new technologies related to the PV sector.
14. Use GIS/CAD software for topographical analysis and layout definition.
15. Support the Commissioning team during the performance ratio testing period.
16. Support the O&M team in the evaluation of the operational performance of the PV fleet.
17. Support and collaborate in cross activities aimed at continuous improvement.
18. Knowledge of solar photovoltaic concepts.
19. Knowledge of PV system general scheme and main components.
20. Knowledge of solar resource assessment methodologies and in the design of photovoltaic power plants.
21. PVsyst software proficiency.
22. Statistics knowledge.
23. Basic knowledge of MS Office and GIS/AutoCAD.
24. Knowledge of Python would be an advantage.

Salary:

R900 ctc – R920 ctc per annum.
